House Democrats Working On A New Impeachment Resolution, This Time Targeting Attorney General Barr

U.S. Representative Steve Cohen of Tennessee submitted a resolution on Tuesday calling for the impeachment of Attorney General William Barr.

The frequent Trump critic alleges that AG Barr is using his job to pursue political goals.

“Today, I introduced #HRes1032, which would authorize an impeachment inquiry into Attorney General Barr,” Cohen wrote on Twitter. “He has politicized the DOJ, undermined the rule of law, abused his power, obstructed justice & violated the first amendment. He is not fit to be Attorney General.”

The representative took specific issue with Barr’s role in the DOJ decision to change sentence recommendations for Trump adviser Roger Stone – a Republican favorite who was clearly targeted by James Comey’s corrupt FBI.

Cohen also cited Barr’s role in the removal of protesters from Lafayette Square near the White House on June 1, prior to a Trump photo op outside St. John’s Episcopal Church as a reason for impeachment.

After the failed attempt to impeachment President Trump earlier this year, Speaker Pelosi has dismissed future impeachment efforts of any administration officials as “ill-advised.”

Politico reported House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler also called a Barr impeachment effort a “waste of time.””

Congressman Cohen introduced the resolution anyway and at least two other House Democrats, Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Bill Pascrell of New Jersey, have publicly joined in favor of impeaching Barr.

Maybe this is just more evidence that the former Democrat power players are losing their control in Washington to the more radical wing of thier party?
