Everything You Need To Know To Defend Mitch McConnell’s Decision To Replace RBG
After news broke that liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed, the left immediately rallied against the Republicans with the power to fill her vacant seat.
They ruthlessly attacked Mitch McConnell, who pledged he would move forward with a nominee, and they’ve hedged their whole argument on one thing: the Majority leader refused to vote to confirm Obama nominee, Merrick Garland.
But here’s the thing… the situations are not comparable AT ALL.
While left would have us thinking Garland vs the unnamed Trump nominee is a literal apples to apples scenario, they’re forgetting that Obama was a second term lame duck Democrat who had lost the control of the Senate 2 years prior to nominating poor Merrick. Trump is a first-term President with Republican controlled Senate whose majority grew in 2016 and 2018, confirming the will of the people is on the side of the GOP.
