BREAKING: Queen Elizabeth Has Died

Queen Elizabeth of England died peacefully today at the age of 96. She reigned for 70 years as the head of the Crown. Her son, Prince Charles, will now take over as head of state and his wife Camilla will become Queen Consort. 

Queen Elizabeth served alongside 15 Prime MInisters the oldest of which was born 101 years apart from the news (Winston Churchill in 1874 and Liz Truss in 1975). Queen Elizabeth was the second longest reigning monarch in World history and longest in English history. 

The queen’s husband Prince Phillip died last year at age 99. 

In her 70 long years of service, Queen Elizabeth was at times controversial, at times quiet but always beloved. But her legacy is without question.
