BREAKING: Trump Has Been Indicted… DeSantis Responds
American public that he has been indicted by the Biden administration over documents allegedly kept at his Mar-a-Lago residence after his tenure ended.
It is worth noting that prominent figures such as Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden himself have been found to possess classified documents after leaving office, yet they have never faced any charges. Let’s not forget that Biden even took them while serving as a senator, and Hillary Clinton operated a private server brimming with classified information during her tenure as Secretary of State.
Trump chose to break this news on Truth Social, a platform he recently launched. In his statement, he expressed his disbelief at the possibility of such an event befalling a former President of the United States, who garnered more votes than any sitting President in our nation’s history and is currently leading in polls for the 2024 Presidential Election, surpassing candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties. He vehemently asserts his innocence, decrying this as a dark day for the United States, suggesting that our country is in a state of decline. However, he remains committed to making America great again, despite these challenges.
According to a report by ABC News, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is preparing to level at least seven charges against Trump, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation, scheme to conceal, and making false statements/representations. These charges pertain to documents that he securely stored under the protection of the 24-7 Secret Service. If convicted, the former President could face 10+ years behind bars.
This news has sparked a range of reactions from politicians and media figures alike.
Trump’s current rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, highlighted the concerning trend of targeted “justice” saying “the weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society… Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?”
Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur, chimed in, noting the apparent disparity in the level of interest and pursuit between Trump and other individuals in politics.
Surprisingly, even liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz expressed grave concerns about the severity of these charges. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, as it seems that one administration (Biden) is intent on criminalizing the actions of a person (Trump) who poses a threat to its policies and agenda. He ranted, “Do you know how serious that is? When you have one administration (Biden) criminalizing the actions of the person (Trump) who threatens to un-do the administration…”
In Congress, Representative Jim Jordan lamented this as a sad day for America, while conservative commentator Mark Levin condemned the indictment as a despicable mark on our nation’s history, attributing it to the actions of the current administration.
Interestingly, this indictment against Trump coincided with Congress gaining access to long-sought-after FBI documents, which allegedly provide evidence of Joe Biden’s acceptance of $5 million from Ukraine in exchange for favorable policy decisions.
Moving forward, Trump is scheduled to appear in court in Miami on Tuesday, following his summons. The legal proceedings surrounding this case will undoubtedly capture the attention of the nation as the former President fights to prove his innocence in the face of what some consider a politically motivated indictment.
