“I’m Going To Beat You!” Kari Lake STUNS In Unexpected Airport Debate
In a recent, fiery exchange at the Phoenix airport, former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake squared off against Democratic Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego, who is vying for a U.S. Senate seat. Video footage of this tense encounter is going viral on Twitter – with good reason. It’s kind of AMAZING!
Watch:
Lake, who officially declared her candidacy for the U.S. Senate in Arizona just days before the encounter, did not mince words when she criticized Democrats’ unwavering support for the massive influx of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. border daily. Ruben Gallego, a far-left Democrat known for his support of late-term abortion and opposition to former President Donald Trump’s border wall, approached Lake during their exchange, recognizing her from her previous career as a journalist.
Their discussion quickly delved into the critical issue of the border crisis. “You’re gonna have a great race,” Gallego remarked to Lake at the airport.
Lake wasted no time in addressing the dire situation at hand, stating, “It’s going to be a knockdown drag-out, and unfortunately, our border is wide open … and even the Democrats are upset about it.”
Gallego attempted to strike a conciliatory tone, suggesting, “I think there’s a lot we can still do, and we’ve been doing some good work. I think there’s some common ground I could find out. Look, we need to figure out how to get people here legally so they don’t go through the illegal manner,” he argued.
Lake, however, was steadfast in her stance. “We have plenty of people here right now. We have millions of people here. Fentanyl has killed more young people … this is Ruben Gallego — our border is wide open — he’s trying to run for Senate, our borders are wide open, fentanyl is killing our young people,” she passionately retorted.
Gallego countered by emphasizing that drugs are entering the country through U.S. ports of entry. The two then engaged in a spirited debate about the pressing issue of homelessness in Arizona, highlighting the stark differences in their approaches to the challenges facing their state and the nation as a whole.
