It’s gonna be May! All the great shows returning May and June

Summertime is finally almost here! And you know what that means? The perfect weather to make beach plans then cancel them and stay inside and watch TV.

May 2: Hacks season 3

Starring the legendary Jean Smart alongside Hannah Einbinder, Hacks takes a look at the changing landscape of comedy. It’s funny, self-aware, and balances generational divides with wit and grace. If you haven’t watched Hacks, do.

May 5: The Real Housewives of New Jersey

You’re either into the Real Housewives franchise or you’re not. But if you are, the New Jersey edition is pretty iconic. Featuring the indomitable Theresa Giudice (who has even done a little time), the wives of New Jersey have produced more memes than a dancing cat. Giudice herself famously flipped a table and called fellow castmate, Daniel Staub a “prostitution whore.” True gold from the RHONJ.

May 10: Doctor Who season 14/season 1 on Disney+

The beloved franchise with a cult following returns to streamers on May 10. Technically (bafflingly) the series on Disney+ is being treated as a reboot and they’re referring to the new season as “season 1.” Considering the show is about time travelers and the doctors are always a rotating cast: it boggles the mind that showrunners would try to claim a fresh start. Fans are pretty much sticking with “season 14.”

May 23: The Kardashians on Hulu

The Kardashian family has dominated our media for almost 20 years. To resist at this point is contrarianism. The new season will more than likely feature all the gossip about Kylie Jenner and Timothy Chalamet’s budding romance, the ongoing tiff between sisters Kim and Kourtney and Khloe remaining the most stable despite her clinically insane (probably)  workout regimen and diet practices.

Juneish: The Bear season 3 on Hulu

Formal release date tbd but The Bear is expected to return after a meteorically successful season 2 sometime in June. Catch up on this show! If you watch no other episode, watch Season 2 Episode 7: Forks. It is one of the best episodes of television in history. Also you can gain the understanding you need as to why everyone is so thirsty for Jeremy Alan White.

June 3: American Ninja Warrior on NBC

This one is a beloved family favorite. American Ninja Warrior harkens to old classics like American Gladiator and not unlike the upcoming Olympics, a show like this one is just good ole basic fun watching the human mind and body overcome extreme challenge. It’s no surprise this show in on its 15th season.

June 16: House of the Dragon on Max

House of the Dragon is the Game of Thrones prequel series and it’s finally back for a Season 2 after a years long hiatus (not unlike its mother program). It’s probably a good time to catch up on this story which left off so long ago with two power house families and their dragons fighting for the throne.

There you have some of my suggestions! Enjoy the indoors!
