Top Moments From the Opening Night of the RNC Convention

The Republican National Committee kicked off their convention in Milwaukee on Monday. On the heels of the assassination attempt of President Donald Trump, who is now officially the Republican nominee for president, the tenor of the event went from  regular excitement to exuberant defiance.

From surprise appearances to VP announcements, Day 1 did not disappoint. Here were the top moments: 

When the Iowa delegation shouted out WNBA Star Caitlin Clark 

“The proud home of Caitlin Clark!” 

When this guy coined the term “MAGAchusetts” 

It rolls right off the tongue. Californmaga just doesn’t do the same thing.

When the Trump family got to speak for Florida and give their dad the delegates which officially secured him the nomination 

When President Trump made a surprise appearance and the crowd went wild
