Musk/Trump: Key highlights from the record setting conversation

Published

on

Elon Musk had a live stream interview/conversation with President Donald Trump on X using the ‘spaces’ feature. The highly touted event drew massive numbers. At the start, the space malfunctioned, Elon Musk himself ascribed the glitch to a DDOS attack (which is basically when someone or many someones flood a particular link or site with a bunch of fake traffic to block people from being able to use the site or link).

The space was quickly fixed and everyone was able to join. At any given time, the space never had less than 1 million in the audience and for most of the time sat around 1.2 million. The space itself received about 73 million views just last night and generated an additional 4 million user posts with a combined 998 million views.

The hugely attended conversation was well timed for the former president as Kamala Harris has been trotting around the country touting high energy and large crowds.

The left is apoplectic about the popularity of the conversation. Kamala Harris’s campaign put out an embarrassing and inscrutable response referencing again the now-completely-defunct “project 25” and the legacy media with absolutely no sense of irony are saying the interview is somehow invalid because Elon Musk is friendly to Donald Trump.

The ‘chat’ as the two men self-described the event, covered a wide and substantive array of topics including policy and leadership. Here are the top moments from the event:

Classic Trump described his assassination attempt as “Not pleasant”

When Trump and Musk respectfully disagreed on the most urgent issue in regard to climate change, showing that smart people can disagree thoughtfully and share common goals at the same time

Trump bringing up the immense amount of energy required to power AI which almost no politician has ever broached

Trump reiterated his position that the Department of Education is a wasteful federal organization that should be eliminated.

Elon Musk giving the hard truth that a leader our enemies do not fear is dangerous for the whole world

President Trump reminding us about ‘right to try’ which was a major first step in deregulating life saving drugs

Musk and Trump looking to the future of transportation including hyperloop tunnels and solar panels on electric vehicles

When President Trump reignited his passion for securing our nation’s borders

The Musk/Trump conversation was possibly the most substantive of the entire 2024 cycle with any candidate so far including the debate between Trump and Biden. If you didn’t get a chance to catch it, check it out below with handy timestamps for each subject area thanks to @MarioNawfal
