In a tradition I don’t think anyone understands anymore, the two candidates for Vice President took the debate stage on October 1, moderated by CBS news. 

Those who watched the debate (a scant few I imagine) had some pretty great takes. It seems to be broadly agreed that JD Vance not only mopped the floor with Tim Walz but also came out looking like a real political leader and contender. Tim Walz had some wild gaffes like when he said he was “friends with school shooters.”
