BREAKING: All The Highlights You Missed from the Al Smith Dinner
President Trump spoke at the Al Smith dinner this weekend and everyone loved it, even in New York!
The Al Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner or the “Al Smith Dinner” is an annual white tie fundraiser in New York that raises funds for Catholic Charities. Every presidential election year since 1960 (except two when they weren’t invited), both Presidential candidates have attended and spoke in the tradition of comedy. For the first time since 1984, one of the candidates, Kamala Harris, declined to attend. Harris sent a pre-recorded video to much criticism.
The event was hosted by comedian Jim Gaffigan who delighted the crowd with politically savvy jokes and President Trump received high accolades even from traditional foes for his witty remarks. Harris’s video was not well received.
