The host of The View wondered out loud on Monday if “we need to see White people get beat up” to see meaningful reform after the death of Tyre Nichols.

Her suggestion is not only a dangerous statement, but it’s also entirely off the mark.

First of all, every single officer involved in the death of Tyre Nichols was black.

Additionally, police brutality affects people of ALL RACES. The literal fact is that more white people are killed by police per year than black people are killed by the police.

Goldberg is playing race politics without the facts to – once again – perpetuate harmful stereotypes.
