OMFG! What Are They Charging Trump With This Time?
Atlanta’s lead prosecutor seems eager to pursue yet another charge against former President Donald Trump, this time invoking racketeering allegations over his post-2020 election actions.
The Georgia racketeering statute demands proof of a pattern of racketeering activities, based on at least two crimes.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis intends to accuse Trump of manipulating witnesses and committing computer trespassing, citing phone calls he made to Georgia election officials following the election. Notably, a call with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where Trump sought to “find 11,780 votes” is among the key points of contention. Furthermore, there are considerations of charges related to ex-Trump attorney Sidney Powell’s alleged involvement in breaching Dominion Voting Systems machines in Coffee Country.
Mike Davis, a former law clerk for Justice Gorsuch, strongly criticized this legal theory, denouncing it as misguided and nonsensical.
The double standards are astounding. In 2016, no prosecutor in America investigated when Democrats conspired to persuade electors to break their oaths and deny their votes to Trump after his victory over Hillary Clinton.
If Willis presses these charges, it would mark Trump’s fourth indictment this year. It’s evident to many that this is nothing short of massive election interference, and it is crucial to put an end to such unwarranted attacks. We must stand against this injustice and protect the democratic process and I plan on doing that by voting for Trump in 2024. I will not let the corrupt state choose my candidate.
